Grady's Dynamic Throwing and Strength Throwing Program for Players 12-14 years of age.
This program focuses on developing pitchers in several key areas including, improved mechanics, efficient arm action, overall body strength, proper warm-up, and recovery. Improvement in these areas will lead to increased velocity, improved command and control, and less risk of injury through improved strength, flexibility, and understanding of proper warm-up techniques.

Our goal is to provide youth throwing athletes ages 12-14 with an all-inclusive, high-quality, research-based training program. We strive to accomplish the following during this program:
1. Teach proper movement patterns and mechanics
2. Introduce players to a proper warm-up, recovery, and strength training program.
3. Develop pitching skills including velocity, command, secondary pitches, holding runners, etc.
4. Foster a love for the game of baseball.

Program Details

Program Length: 12 weeks starting December 2022 through February 2023. No classes will be held the week of Christmas. There will be 11 total weeks of training.

Training Breakdown:
Movement Phase: The focus will be on movement, mechanics, stability, mobility, and learning the correct lifting form. Player's will work on areas described in the movement and throwing analysis and each player will focus on his individual improvement plan. Players will ramp-up the throwing volume and this will vary based on each player's workload during the summer and fall. Players will study video, learn plyoball drills, focus on arm care and recovery, and throw medicine balls to build strength.

Velocity Phase: Players who successfully complete the Movement Phase will advance to the Velocity Phase. Players who are still addressing movement or mechanical issues will remain in the movement phase. In this phase, players will ramp up their throwing intensity, begin long toss and/or pulldowns. Players will begin transitioning to the mound during this phase. Video will also be used to monitor movement and mechanical improvements.

Mound Phase Players will transition fully to the mound and will focus on specific pitching skills. Players will focus on command, off-speed pitches, pitch selection and execution, pitch calling, and more. Players will compete with others during this phase and focus on a variety of skills

All players will complete a strength program beginning in week 1. This program will also work in phases.

What others have to say:

"My son is in Grady's VIP program and this was his first time focusing on training to be a pitcher.  The program is exactly what you want, there is a movement screening, data driven approach to pitch design, mechanics, velocity , and command, along with strength training.  My son has improved his velocity, command, movement and off-speed pitches but most importantly he has improved how he thinks as a pitcher and how to actually pitch, not just throw.

My biggest takeaway from the program is that Mike and his coaches care about helping my son reach his goals and support him.  My advice to any parent is to sign your son up for the VIP program and make sure he follows it, you will not be sorry!" - Mike Hampu

"My first and lasting impression of Grady's Pitching School is the enthusiasm Mike and his instructors bring to EVERY lesson.  They genuinely interested in your players growth and improvement.  Mike isn't trying to make every pitcher throw the same way.  He analyzes and experiments with each pitcher, e.g. different release points, different grips, etc. to try and maximize their individual skills.  Mike's understanding of pitching and pitch design coupled with the technology is second to none.  Mike truly uses the technology to enhance the players' training experience.  A lot of young players don't understand or possess the self-awareness to make adjustments.  The technology and Mike's analysis with your player allows them to not only see what they are doing, but to see how the adjustments immediately impact the results." -Ian Schechterman
