Velocity and Strength Pitching Training for HS Freshmen and Sophomores

Training Class Information and Overview

This class is designed to introduce freshmen and sophomore HS pitchers to specialized training specifically designed to increase overall strength while specifically focusing on the needs of 14-15 year old pitchers. Our training class will improve your core strength, lower-half explosiveness, and arm strength, and cardiovascular endurance. This class is designed for players who intend to work extremely hard to become a better pitcher. The program is intense and players must complete exercises and drills 4-5 times a week to see maximum results.

Dates and Times: Every Wednesday from 5:30-6:45pm . The program will run for 10 weeks.

Training Info: Pitchers will rotate to different stations throughout the class. These stations may include med balls, ladders, stability balls, box jumps, etc.  Pitching Coach Mike Grady will work with pitchers to develop arm health and strength through dynamic stretching, plyo balls,  and band work. The functional strength,  core and endurance training will also be a significant part of the program.

All pitchers will receive a personalized strength training program that they will complete outside of the class.  In order to get the most out of the class, each participant must commit to working on their own on the days classes are not held.  A membership to the Hall of Fame Fitness Center is included with the program.

Velocity Development: We will use a radar gun to measure each pitcher’s velocity and arm strength on the first night of class. We will also video each pitcher to analyze mechanics and to identify any flaws. At the end of the class, we will again measure each pitcher’s velocity and arm strength to track velocity gains. Last year, pitchers saw an average velocity gain of 4.2 MPH. Click here to view the results of each pitcher in the program last year.

Cost: $445.00 for 10 weeks

What others have to say:

"My son is in Grady's VIP program and this was his first time focusing on training to be a pitcher.  The program is exactly what you want, there is a movement screening, data driven approach to pitch design, mechanics, velocity , and command, along with strength training.  My son has improved his velocity, command, movement and off-speed pitches but most importantly he has improved how he thinks as a pitcher and how to actually pitch, not just throw.

My biggest takeaway from the program is that Mike and his coaches care about helping my son reach his goals and support him.  My advice to any parent is to sign your son up for the VIP program and make sure he follows it, you will not be sorry!" - Mike Hampu

"My first and lasting impression of Grady's Pitching School is the enthusiasm Mike and his instructors bring to EVERY lesson.  They genuinely interested in your players growth and improvement.  Mike isn't trying to make every pitcher throw the same way.  He analyzes and experiments with each pitcher, e.g. different release points, different grips, etc. to try and maximize their individual skills.  Mike's understanding of pitching and pitch design coupled with the technology is second to none.  Mike truly uses the technology to enhance the players' training experience.  A lot of young players don't understand or possess the self-awareness to make adjustments.  The technology and Mike's analysis with your player allows them to not only see what they are doing, but to see how the adjustments immediately impact the results." -Ian Schechterman
